HOW TO PLAY

GAME GUIDE

The Game

Here at GridRival you will be managing your own Fantasy F1 team where you will be awarded points based on the drivers/constructors real world performances in the 2017 season.

Your Fantasy F1 team starts with a budget of £100,000,000 to sign 5 drivers and 1 constructor on a contractual basis. Throughout the site, you may see drivers and constructors referred to as “team elements.”

Our bespoke game structure allows for much more diversity by requiring each team to make strategic choices with your team selections over the course of the whole season. You can't just sign the best team and leave it that way, to win 1st place your need the perfect formula.

Here is how it works!

Contracts

All Fantasy F1 team drivers and constructors are signed on a “contract” basis. Contracts may last between 1 and 5 races.

Each signed contract will incur a 3% fee based on the element's current value. This will be take from your fantasy bank balance. Early contract releases cost 4% of the elements current value.

If a team elements contract is released at the agreed date, no fees apply and the elements current value will be credited back to your team balance.

Prior to the first race of the season you can sign and release team elements without incurring any charges.

TALENT DRIVER

Any drivers whose value is equal to or less than £20,000,000. May be selected as a “Talent Driver.” The Talent Driver will earn DOUBLE points. If your Talent Driver value increases to over $20,000,000 you will still be eligible to use them as a Talent Driver until their contract expires. However, any new selection will be subject to the value limit.

Lockdown

The game will go into lockdown immediately before the start of Free Practice 1 (FP1) of each race weekend. The games real-time countdown timer will provide an accurate indication of how much time is left until lockdown occurs.

You will be not be able to make any changes to your teams or leagues until after the game update has taken place. This occurs approximately 3 hours after the end of the race.

Be aware that once a contract is released, you will need to fill that position with a new driver or constructor! The game can email you 24 hours and 4 hours prior to lockdown if you have open positions. Make sure to select these options in your settings > notifications area.

The 1 race interval rule

Once a team element is released, you may not sign it again for at least 1 race. If you wish to sign your original team element back into your Fantasy F1 team you can do so after the 1 race interval.

Bank balance and experience points gains

For every 1 point your Fantasy F1 team accumulates for a race weekend you will add £2,500 to your fantasy bank balance.

For every 1 point your Fantasy F1 team accumulates for a race weekend you will earn 3 experience points.

MID-SEASON CHANGES

In the event of one of your selected drivers missing a race, the replacement driver will remain in your Fantasy F1 team, and score points as per normal, the decision to release the given driver is then your own decision to make. The same rule applied in the event of a selected driver switching team mid-season.

Element value fluctuation

All Element Values are assigned a fixed value from the start of the season, each element value may fluctuate throughout the season based on their real life track performances, these changes are made by GridRival's bespoke value adjustment system.

  • Max value adjustment per race is +/- £2,000,000.
  • Minimum element value is £9,000,000.
  • In the event of exceptional circumstances we reserve the right step in and alter element values as needed.
